We had a Henneke System Clinic in Connecticut for our Animal Control Officers. Several states were invited to send staff to this amazing clinic which gave us tools (including workbooks)that we then could competently use to prepare for court action and cases we had under investigation. Eleanor is a through teacher who made sure everyone went away with the ability to recognize and use the scoring system to determine the severity of the abuse. The video footage she used to illustrate each part of the scale helped in seeing the change from one score to the next. In addition she was able through physical bones that she brought with her to get you to feel what the palpation would be like on a real horse in emaciation. Eleanor is recognized by the state of Washington as an expert witness in her field. Her clear, concise ability made for a rich educational experience and we hated to see her leave.

Because we care about the safety and professionalism of our clients when they are dealing with the public and the pets they love. More than one police officer has said to us ..."I would not want your job, because you can take his kids and you can take his wife, but you darn well better leave his dog alone" We are confident that we can change this for everyone involved.!
